We've released a new template for asbestos surveys, which follows New Zealand's Worksafe Standard.
The template can be used within the Flow Mobile Surveying app to capture on-site data and create asbestos survey reports. The template is available to clients, on request.
Asbestos was commonly used in building materials until the 1970’s, and is harmful to health.
Duty holders are required by law to manage asbestos in their properties, to make sure tenants are safe from harm. Asbestos surveys are carried out to identify and manage the risks posed by asbestos.
This template is for New Zealand based asbestos surveyors, who follow the Worksafe standard.
This template is similar to our HSG 264 asbestos survey template, with some important differences outlined below:
The New Zealand Worksafe Standard treats all asbestos fibres the same. As a result, the risk rating ranges from 1 to 9, in contrast to the UK's HSG 264 standard, where the risk rating ranges from 2 to 12.
We've changed the risk groups too; we've grouped risk ratings from low (instead of very low) to high.
The Worksafe risk mappings can be seen below.
Since asbestos fibre types are treated the same in New Zealand, adding lab results simply asks you to confirm if the sample contains asbestos. You can also select multiple fibre types.
This template is for New Zealand based asbestos surveying companies, who want to improve their report turnaround time. The template is available to clients on request.
